About HebrewTyping
הקלדה בעברית זה אתר לתרגול הקלדה, המשתמש ביצירות ספרות מנחלת הכלל במקום שיטות תרגול מסורתיות של חזרה על אותיות. במקום לתרגל בעזרת מילים בדויות, המשתמשים מקלידים דרך סיפורים, שירים, ומשלים אמיתיים מאת סופרים מפורסמים - בעברית מקורית ובתרגומים עבריים של יצירות עולמיות.
HebrewTyping is a free Hebrew typing practice site that uses real public domain literature instead of the traditional method of repeating random letters. Rather than drilling with invented words, users type through actual stories, poems, and fables by famous authors - in original Hebrew and in Hebrew translations of world classics.
כל היצירות באתר זה מסופקות על ידי פרויקט בן-יהודה — הספרייה הדיגיטלית הגדולה ביותר של יצירות עבריות בנחלת הכלל. הפרויקט, המתואר על ידי יוצריו כ'שימור, הנגשה, וחשיפת יצירות עבריות לציבור הרחב', כולל נכון להיום למעלה מ-63,000 יצירות של למעלה מ-4,300 יוצרים, ומתוחזק על ידי מתנדבים בהתנדבות מלאה. פרויקט בן-יהודה הוא, במובנים רבים, ה-Project Gutenberg של הספרות העברית.
All works on this site are provided by Project Ben-Yehuda — the largest digital library of Hebrew public domain literature. Described by its creators as dedicated to 'the preservation, accessibility, and exposure of Hebrew works to the general public', the project currently contains over 63,000 works by more than 4,300 authors and is maintained entirely by volunteers. Project Ben-Yehuda is, in many ways, the Project Gutenberg of Hebrew literature.
הספרייה כוללת יצירות מאת סופרים מפורסמים מרחבי העולם - ביאליק, קיפלינג, צ'כוב, לה פונטן, אנדרסן ועוד - לצד יצירות מהמסורת הערבית והמזרחית. המתרגמים שהביאו יצירות אלה לעברית הם עצמם דמויות מרכזיות בספרות העברית: אורי ניסן גנסין, דוד פרישמן, שמואל לייב גורדון ואחרים.
The library includes works by celebrated authors from around the world - Bialik, Kipling, Chekhov, La Fontaine, Andersen and more - alongside works from the Arabic and Eastern storytelling tradition. The translators who brought these works into Hebrew are themselves central figures in Hebrew literature: Uri Nissan Gnessin, David Frischmann, Shmuel Leib Gordon and others.
הקלדה בעברית נבנה על ידי יהושע חמוי (Josh Chamo), מפתח ומהנדס אבטחת איכות שעשה עלייה מניו יורק לישראל והתיישב בקריית ביאליק - על שם המשורר הלאומי חיים נחמן ביאליק, שיצירותיו מופיעות באתר זה. לאחר שחיפש כלי לתרגול הקלדה בעברית ולא מצא דבר שהתאים לצרכיו, הוא החליט לבנות כלי כזה בעצמו. הרעיון היה פשוט: לתרגל הקלדה בעברית דרך ספרות אמיתית ומשמעותית, ולא דרך מחרוזות אותיות חסרות משמעות.
HebrewTyping was built by Josh Chamo, a developer and quality assurance (QA) engineer who made aliyah from New York to Israel and settled in Kiryat Bialik - named after the national poet Chaim Nachman Bialik, whose works appear on this very site. After searching for a Hebrew typing practice tool and finding nothing that suited his needs, he decided to build one himself. The idea was simple: practice Hebrew typing through real, meaningful literature rather than through meaningless letter strings.
